CHARACTER COUNTS

The Springdale School District strongly believes that students who are most likely to succeed at school are also students who have many traits associated with good character.  For that purpose, we established a district-wide focus on character traits that will enhance student achievement.  Our "Character Education" program involves the reinforcement of good character traits through the use of common vocabulary that highlights behaviors that encourage good citizenship.

September – Generous- the quality or fact of being generous:  noble or forbearing spirit; KINDLY; liberal in giving; OPENHANDED).
 October - Dependability - Trustworthy to do what I say I will do.
November - Thankfulness - Being grateful and saying so.
December - Kindness - A friendly, good-natured attitude toward others.
January - Manners - Ways of behaving which show good character.
February - Compassion - Feeling for another's need and helping that one without expecting anything in return.
March - Friendliness - Knowing, liking, and accepting other people just the way they are.
April - Optimism - A positive outlook that everything will turn out for the best.
May - Contentment - Being happy with what I have.
