Fourth grade has been studying the World’s major rivers and mountain ranges. On Friday, August 29, 2008 three guest speakers came to share their stories about two of our world’s major rivers. Mr. Farrell came to our school to share about his travels to the mouth of the River Nile and the Amazon River. He brought two special guests with him. Pastor Edward Magu lives in Jinia, Uganda on the content of Africa. He is visiting the United States for two weeks. Pastor Edward spoke with Willis D. Shaw’s fourth grade students about his home at the mouth of the River Nile. Mr. Useche is a resident of Elm Springs but grew up in Leticia, South America. Leticia is a small town accessible only by boat or plane near Bolivia. Mr. Useche shared stories of his childhood and growing up near tributaries of the Amazon River. When in Leticia, Mr. Useche runs a boat team that helps bring needed supplies to his village. | |
